God's Instructions for Us

Colossians 2:8- "See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ". Paul reminds us of what Jesus did for us, dying on the cross for us so that we may believe and be saved. We are also reminded to live honest, caring, Christ-like lives. God will come and we will need to be ready for Him living by His Holy Word or suffer His wrath. Join me in studying and learning from Colossians 1-4 about our instructions for Holy living. Thank you Lord for all that you do!

It's been a while, I know

It's been a while, I know - I will forever continue to serve my God, Lord and savior, Jesus!

It's been a little busy lately - summer school, now back to my usual nursing semesters. I love it, although it's a lot - I just take it one day at a time.

Always remember that with God, all things are possible. Pray, meditate on His Holy word, and abide by this knowing that by living through the Bible and trying to live as Christ-like as possible, Jesus will be with us every step of the way.

God Bless

I have also been working on faith bracelets during my breaks from studying, they are wrap around beaded bracelets and jewelry sets. It's a relaxing way to get my mind off school for a little while. Check them out at: http://www.bonanza.com/booths/catvady

Talk to Your Children About Sexual Abuse in Words They Can Understand!

Talk to Your Children About Sexual Abuse in Words They Can Understand!

I couldn't hold back my tears for this young woman. Such resilience and strength.

I'm taking this online class, developmental psychology and wrote my research paper on a video link about a girl who was sexually abused by her stepfather when she was in the 4th grade. He would sneak into her room at night a few times per week. She told the mother and she kicked him out but then several years later he was back in the picture (back with the mom) - I know you're probably thinking, what mother would allow her child to be near this man again - let alone living in this same house??!! This girl is now 19 and living in a dorm in college. Even though her step dad is dead, she suffers from PTSD. Every time she wakes up in the middle of the night, she worries he's in the room even though she can't see him. She experiences flash backs and anxiety. She's now engaged (still a virgin) and is terrified of her wedding night - worried if she will have flashbacks of her unfortunate experiences that should have been first time experiences with her future husband. There's something to be said about her resilience - the fact that she can go on camera and talk about it and urge others to speak up... and continue life and have a serious relationship with a young man and continue to pursue her college education to better her future. God bless her.

Please talk to your children about what's appropriate and inappropriate touching by anyone they come across. Urge them to tell you, or the other parent about these occurrences. Then seek help from medical professionals to properly deal with the issue. Don't just dismiss it - for some it can do more damage than good and cause psychological issues as an adult. Stand up for your children. It can happen to anyone and by anyone. Please be aware and help your children be aware.

May you seek God's guidance and protection for your children always,  may God bless you!

The Heart of a Warrior

The heart of warrior is one that fights for Jesus - not literally fight, but spreads the word of God so that others may know the good news. I am green, not yet ripe - still learning about His word and the promises contained in them. Knowledge is power and power is love, but I will not let that stop me from talking about Him all the time! It's is love of our Creator, Father, Savior...

I see warriors all around me; all different ages, shapes, colors and sizes - but all beautiful and strong - led by the Holy Spirit. My brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers.

Lord, I see You when You want me to see You – thank You, I hear You when You need me to hear You – thank You, I feel You always – thank You forever. Such precious gifts You’ve brought to our home, what a blessing!  The way You work through our hearts and Holy Spirit, we thank You Lord and we Honor You always.

HE has our back!

Don’t turn your back on Jesus - He never turns his back on us - through him we are forgiven and saved.

Don’t just look for God when you need him, you must seek Him always – with the good and the bad.

Our lives will never be perfect or completely peaceful but we can get through it best if we realize God is always with us.

God rewards us with blessings (thank You!), and helps us through our valleys and life lessons (thank You again!).

Anyone can have the opportunity to experience the true power of His grace and mercy if you just give your life to Christ and let Him lead you.

What a difference this has made in my life and I thank God for it all.

My Road to Christ - Part 2

…That same year (2008), we found a local Catholic Church, near Ronkonkoma, NY. This became our church for about a year. We even planned our church wedding for June of 2009. It was a beautiful ceremony. In this journey, I felt like I was headed in the right direction, but I now know that I still wasn’t ‘home’…

In that same year (2009), we had moved to another town that was about 20 minutes away from that church, so we decided to find somewhere that would be near our new home. It wasn’t until 2011 that we started looking again in the Coram area for a church. I had thought about visiting a Christian church, but I had no idea where to start. We visited another Catholic Church, near us. We went twice. I introduced myself to the priest and went to service, which was the familiar service I was always used to.

Something just wasn’t right within me still. I didn’t want to sit there just because. I didn’t feel like I wasn’t getting closer to God. Maybe it was me or perhaps I didn’t have the tools to go about it.  I wasn’t learning anymore than what was usually spoken about His Holy Word. I knew that I had to find a church since the Bible describes that our Lord commands us to go to church and take part in fellowship and worship our Lord, Savior, Creator! That’s also what I wanted to do to obey my God, knowing that he deserves every worship and praise that we give him.

Driving down the road, on my way home one day (early 2012), I saw a church on my right and something was telling me to remember to look them up and to visit them. I looked them up on the web, read their beliefs and I just knew I had to check it out for myself. I did. Also, I repented, I was saved, baptized, and now walk side by side with Jesus, my Lord and Savior who is always there no matter what paving the way to fulfilling my purpose in life. I love YOU and praise YOU my GOD! I am home.

Happy Twenty Thirteen ... and Ten!

Happy New Year to all! May 2013 bring lots of faith, love and peace to all. Oh my how time flies, 10 years ago today Victor and I officially started dating and soon after I knew he would be the one. Happy (dating) anniversary babe! To my God: Thank you for my wonderful spouse / partner in life & please continue to direct my life and unravel the path before me. To All: Don't sweat the small stuff; live, laugh, strive, achieve and most importantly LOVE...

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 - Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.

Daily Prayer:
As we are shaped, molded, and stretched by the Holy Spirit and as we go through seasons in our lives,
We remember that you, oh Lord, our God has a purpose for each and every one of us.
We understand that there will be highs and lows - mountain tops and valleys and that we will get through these seasons, especially when seeking you first.
We ask you, Almighty One for strength, endurance, and guidance.
We continue to give you thanks and praise and we continue to grow in out faith, and love for You.
Jesus, you are my Savior, my Provider, my Prince of Peace!
I worship You, Lord, My God!
Amen.
