…That same year (2008), we found a local Catholic Church, near Ronkonkoma , NY . This became our church for about a year. We even planned our church wedding for June of 2009. It was a beautiful ceremony. In this journey, I felt like I was headed in the right direction, but I now know that I still wasn’t ‘home’…
In that same year (2009), we had moved to another town that was about 20 minutes away from that church, so we decided to find somewhere that would be near our new home. It wasn’t until 2011 that we started looking again in the Coram area for a church. I had thought about visiting a Christian church, but I had no idea where to start. We visited another Catholic Church, near us. We went twice. I introduced myself to the priest and went to service, which was the familiar service I was always used to.
Something just wasn’t right within me still. I didn’t want to sit there just because. I didn’t feel like I wasn’t getting closer to God. Maybe it was me or perhaps I didn’t have the tools to go about it. I wasn’t learning anymore than what was usually spoken about His Holy Word. I knew that I had to find a church since the Bible describes that our Lord commands us to go to church and take part in fellowship and worship our Lord, Savior, Creator! That’s also what I wanted to do to obey my God, knowing that he deserves every worship and praise that we give him.
Driving down the road, on my way home one day (early 2012), I saw a church on my right and something was telling me to remember to look them up and to visit them. I looked them up on the web, read their beliefs and I just knew I had to check it out for myself. I did. Also, I repented, I was saved, baptized, and now walk side by side with Jesus, my Lord and Savior who is always there no matter what paving the way to fulfilling my purpose in life. I love YOU and praise YOU my GOD! I am home.
